Her impressive body of work tackles some of our most pressing social concerns—poverty, domestic abuse, drug addiction, human rights, AIDS and mental illness—and has garnered numerous awards and been featured on HBO, A&E, MTV, Lifetime, The Oxygen Network, Court TV, TLC and PBS.

The Today’s Woman Foundation is saddened by the recent passing of Ms. Dixie Carter.
The talented and versatile actress, best remembered for her role as Julia Sugarbaker on the CBS Designing Women sitcom was gracious, witty, and full of Southern Charm.
We were honored to have her as our 2008 Today’s Woman Foundation Expo Keynote Speaker. Ms. Carter epitomized the meaning of being a Today’s Woman living a holistic lifestyle complete with a legacy of compassion, humor, humility and giving back.
Our sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to her family, friends and fans!
